Coronavirus: FC Barcelona shows its support for China by having Chinese children as match mascots

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) players will be escorted onto the pitch by Chinese children who will be wearing t-shirts with the message "Stronger Together" written in English and "Support for China" in Chinese, during their match versus Getafe CF (LaLiga Santander) on Saturday 15/02/2020 (kick-off at 16:00 CET), announced the club on 14/02/2020.

The club is supporting the Chinese people affected by the recent Coronavirus outbreak, which appeared in Wuhan (China), in December 2019, and has infected over 60,000 people and caused the death of over 1,300 people as of 14/02/2020.

"The message 'Stronger Together' will also be appearing on a canvas laid out on the pitch both in English and Chinese. Stronger Together expresses how, in a globalised world, the outbreak of an epidemic like coronavirus is something that could happen anywhere at any time, and could affect anybody. The message is that we should all stick together in the face of adversity," continued the Catalan club.
