Twenty former German professional footballers have invested in the Social Commerce Group SE, a holding of three companies specialising in digital sport — MXM AG, yoyo AG and Staramba — announced the Social Commerce Group SE on 08/04/2014.

MXM AG develops software for augmented reality technology; Yoyo AG offers clubs, organisations and sports companies new marketing opportunities with fans; and Staramba is a company that employs 3D technology.

"The goal is, first of all, to bring many sports fans into new platforms, using the latest digital technologies that enable them to be closer to their clubs, and, secondly, to help clubs develop new, digital sources of revenue in the face of increasing financial pressures," the Social Commerce Group SE stated.

  • Inverstors include former German international players Fredi Bobic and Marko Rehmer, as well as former Bundesliga players Thomas Linke, Stefan Beinlich and Hasan Salihamidzic.
