Formula E: BMW i (electric cars) extends as official vehicle from 2019-20

BMW i, the German car manufacturer's brand of electric vehicles, has extended as the official vehicle of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship from 2019-20, announced Formula E on 14/02/2020. BMW i has been a founding partner of Formula E for a duration of six seasons since its inaugural season in 2014-15. BMW has also had its own Formula E team, BMW i Andretti Motorsport, since the launch of the competition.

BMW i will continue to benefit from the status of official partner, the fourth level in the competition's sponsorship hierarchy. The previous contract (2017-2019) was estimated at €6m per season and will be increased according to international media on 17/02/2020. "With the renewed partnership beyond the current season, the German manufacturer will continue to equip Formula E with a fleet of BMW i safety vehicles, including the new-look safety car, race director car, medical car and rescue car," said Formula E.
