Germany: the 36 Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs generated a record €4.8bn in revenue in 2018-19

The 18 Bundesliga clubs and the 18 clubs of the 2.Bundesliga generated a total of €4.802bn in revenue in 2018-19, according to the DFL, who presented their 2020 Economic Report (available to download) on 18/02/2020.

The revenue generated by the 18 Bundesliga clubs exceeded €4bn for the first time. The amount of €4.02bn represents an increase of 5.4% compared to in 2017-18 (and +134% over 10 years) and enabled the German top flight to post a fifteenth consecutive year of record revenues, according to Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH.

"The cumulative revenue of the 2.Bundesliga clubs, which is traditionally more volatile than in the Bundesliga as up to six clubs are promoted or relegated, also increased by 28.5% on the previous season to a record level of €782m (in 2018-19)," said Christian Seifert, CEO of the DFL.
