Eleven Sports Portugal: launch of an alerts service on WhatsApp for fans to follow matches

The pay-TV group Eleven Sports has launched a new alerts service on the instant messaging application WhatsApp, which includes video clips and goals, in order for fans in Portugal to follow matches, from the beginning of the 2019-20 Champions League Round of 16 first leg, on 18/02/2020.

The service will be available "for a host of premium live sport in Portugal, including LaLiga, Bundesliga and Ligue1, as well as the Champions League," said Eleven Sports.

"The new WhatsApp service is the latest in a series of innovations from Eleven Sports to bring fans their favourite sporting moments, wherever they want to consume them.  Last year Eleven launched a new partnership with leading football app One Football to make matches available to fans through the app," said the Pay-TV group.

According to the group, Eleven Sports experienced a growth in subscribers on social media of 138% in 2019.
