Borussia Dortmund: 1&1 (telecom) new shirt sponsor (Bundesliga), Evonik to remain for cup matches

1&1, a German telecommunications brand belonging to the internet services group United Internet AG, has become a main partner (first level) and main shirt sponsor of Borussia Dortmund for its Bundesliga matches, for five seasons, from 2020-21 until the end of 2024-25, according to the German club on 20/02/2020. The agreement was negotiated by the sports marketing agency Lagardère Sports.

In the Bundesliga, 1&1 will succeed the chemical group Evonik Industries, Borussia Dortmund's main shirt sponsor for all competitions since 2007-08. However, Evonik will remain a partner of Borussia and main shirt sponsor until the end of 2024-25 for international competitions (including the Champions League and Europa League), the DFB-Pokal and friendlies abroad, such as the German club's summer tour. Evonik has been a commercial partner of BVB since 2006-07.
