Coronavirus: Ireland - Italy, Six Nations rugby match canceled due to the virus

Following a meeting with the Minister for Health Simon Harris, the Six Nations match between Ireland and Italy, which was scheduled to take place at the Aviva Stadium (51,700 capacity) in Dublin (IRL) on Saturday 07/03/2020, has been cancelled "to protect public health in relation to the Coronavirus," announced the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) on 26/02/2020.

The outbreak from China has already caused several sporting events in Italy to be postponed until a later date: "Lega Serie A has ordered the postponement of four matches from Matchday 25 of the Serie A TIM scheduled for Sunday 23/02/2020 (Atalanta BC - US Sassuolo Calcio, Hellas Verona - Cagliari Calcio, FC Internazionale Milano - Sampdoria, Torino FC - Parma)," announced the Italian professional league on 23/02/2020. At least five games on Matchday 26 will be played behind closed doors on Saturday 29/02 and Sunday 01/03/2020, including the top-of-the-table match between Juventus FC and FC Internazionale Milano (01/03/2020, kick-off at 20:45 CET).
