FIFA: Gianni Infantino publishes action plan "The Vision 2020-2023: Making Football Truly Global"

"On the day of the fourth anniversary of his election as FIFA president (26/02/2016), Gianni Infantino published 'The Vision 2020-2023: Making Football Truly Global', his proposed action plan for the organisation over the course of the coming years," announced the International Federation on 26/02/2020.

"This document lays out a plan to further modernise the football world, make it increasingly inclusive and pave the way to a landscape in which, one day, we will have at least 50 national teams and 50 clubs from all continents at a top competitive level," said Gianni Infantino (ITA-SUI).

"The situation strikes me as fairly straightforward: a game that is so powerful and popular around the planet cannot be played at its highest level in only a few regions. Our key mission is to truly globalise, popularise and democratise football for the benefit of the entire world. This is what I mean with my vision for the period until 2023," added the FIFA president, who was re-elected for a four year term at the FIFA Congress held in Paris (FRA) on 05/06/2019.
