Liga: Atletico Madrid experimenting with Google Glass

German Burgos, assistant manager of Atlético Madrid, experimented with Google Glass in the Getafe-Atlético Madrid match (0-2, 33rd day of Liga) on 13/04/2014. These connected glasses allowed the manager to have statistics in real time during the match.

Medicoach, a statistics app developed by the LFP (Spanish Professional Football League) and Mediapro (a Spanish audiovisual group) provided information tailored to the world of football in real time via Google Glass.

The glasses gave Burgos access to four types of stats during the match (general statistics, game building, defence, and shots); they were updated automatically every 30 seconds or by hand movement.

"Google Glass is very technically useful. You can get information about the match live. It is programmable and modifiable during the match", Burgos German told the daily AS on 13/04/2014.
