England: Premier League to launch a Hall of Fame with first 2 members to be announced on 19/03/2020

The Premier League is to launch a "Hall of Fame", which will aim to "recognise and celebrate the exceptional skill and talent of players who have graced the competition since its inception in 1992," announced the English league on 27/02/2020.

Only retired players are eligible for the Premier League Hall of Fame. The identity of its first two members will be revealed on 19/03/2020. On the same date, a list of candidate players will be unveiled, with fans then invited to vote for who they wish to see enter the Hall of Fame in 2020.

"Membership of the Premier League Hall of Fame will be the highest individual honour awarded to players by the League. Only a player's Premier League career is considered in their candidacy," said the body.
