LaLiga Santander: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram statements of the 20 clubs (March 2020)

The 20 clubs competing in the 2019-20 LaLiga Santander season have nearly 503 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/03/2019. This total makes LaLiga Santander the most popular Top 5 European league on all three social networks, ahead of the Premier League, with an average of 25.1 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF is the most popular Spanish club with nearly 230 million fans, while FC Barcelona, second, with a total of 219 million fans, are ahead of Club Atlético de Madrid in third place with 27.5 million.

Getafe CF was the club that posted the best percentage growth on Instagram (+12.9%), as well as on Twitter (+5.7%) and Facebook (+3.1%) during the month of February.

On Instagram, Real Madrid posted the best increase in absolute value among the European Top 5 clubs in February 2020 (+1.2 million followers), ahead of Barça (+1.1 million), Juventus FC (Serie A TIM, +1 million) and Liverpool FC (Premier League, +800,000).
