Liverpool FC: partnership with Iugis to implement a sustainable food waste solution at Anfield

Liverpool FC (Premier League), in partnership with the Australian food waste management company Iugis, will be implementing an "innovative food waste solution" in the stands at Anfield (53,394 capacity) in order "to further reduce its food waste and deliver on its sustainability goals," announced the club on 26/02/2020.

This initiative is part of an agreement that makes Iugis a partner of the English club in Australia and Europe. "Iugis' innovative organic food digester machines use microorganisms and oxygen to transform food waste into water on site, reducing the need for off-site transport and diverting it from landfill," added Liverpool FC.

"Our goal is to have a dramatic impact on how food waste is managed and working with such a premier global partner in Europe and Australia enables us to highlight the innovative technology that is available today to dramatically reduce businesses’ carbon footprints," said Bill Papas, CEO of Iugis.
