Premier League: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 20 clubs (March 2020)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2019-20 Premier League season have over 501 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/03/2019. This total makes the Premier League the second most popular Top 5 European league on all the three social networks, behind LaLiga Santander, with an average of 25 million fans per club.

Manchester United FC are the most popular English club with nearly 129 million fans, followed by Chelsea FC, with over 83.1 million and Liverpool FC, with more than 74.5 million.

Liverpool FC was the Premier League club that experienced the best growth in absolute value in February 2020 with 1.2 million additional fans, including 800,000 on Instagram alone. Manchester City FC, second, posted an increase of more than 1.15 million fans, also mainly via Instagram (+590,000 followers).

In terms of percentage growth, Sheffield United FC was the club that experienced the best growth on Instagram (+10.9%) and Twitter (+4.6%), while Wolverhampton Wanderers FC posted the best growth on Facebook (+5.2%) among the Premier…
