Russian Premier Liga: end of the 2019-20 season accessible globally via a paid YouTube subscription

The Tinkoff Russian Premier Liga has become "the first major league in the world 'YouTube's memberships' as the main distribution channel of their rights outside of the home market," announced the Russian Football League on 02/03/2020.

Two levels of membership are offered for the end of the 2019-20 season: the first level includes two game per matchday with commentary in English ($2.99/€2.70 per month) and the second level gives subscribers access to all eight matches in Russian and two games with English commentary as well ($4.99/€4.50 per month).

"We are looking into the promising prospect of launching our own OTT service or implementing it on the partner side for an international audience. Regarding this matter agreement with Google is an important step in implementing our plans, researching audience preferences, its sensitivity to the price and extent of conversion," said Pavel Suvorov, commercial director of the Russian Premier Liga.
