Discovery: a turnover of $11.14bn (€9.93bn) and net profit of $2.07bn (€1.84bn) in 2019

The American audiovisual group Discovery (parent company of the pay-TV group Eurosport) posted a turnover of $11.14bn (€9.93bn, on 31/12/2019) for the financial year 2019 (closing of accounts on 31/12/2019), according to the group, which published its accounts on 27/02/2020. This figure is up 6% (2% at constant perimeter) compared to 2018.

Turnover from the US channels rose by 12% (up 3% at constant perimeter) and represented 63.6% of the group's turnover (compared to 60.2% in 2018). Turnover for the international channels were down 3% (stable at constant perimeter) and represented 36.3% of the total (39.3% in 2018).

The group's operating profit was $4.1bn (€3.6bn) in 2019, up 12% (7% at constant perimeter) compared to 2018. Net profit was $2.069bn (€1.84bn) compared to $594m (€517m) the previous year.
