eSports: 7Sports (ProSiebenSat.1) extends ESL Pro Tour broadcasting rights for 3 seasons (2020-2022)

7Sports, an entity that groups together the sports operations of the audiovisual group ProSiebenSat.1, has retained the broadcasting rights, through the Electronic Sports League (ESL), to the ESL Pro Tour eSport competitions for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, for an additional three seasons (2020-2022), according to the German group on 28/02/2020. The ESL Pro Tour is a circuit of competitions played on the ESL shooting video game CS:GO (published by Valve).

The previous agreement between 7Sports and the ESL, which had been planned for two seasons, expired at the end of 2019. The new rights package includes the broadcasting of the finals of the ESL Pro Tour, the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice (POL) and the ESL One Cologne (GER). The TV channels ProSieben Maxx and ProSieben Fun will broadcast these competitions. The agreement also provides for a weekly TV eSports magazine ("ran eSports - Professional. Gaming. Magazine"), every Thursday at 22:00 CET.
