European Court of Human Rights: M. Platini's application "unanimously declared inadmissible"

"The Court found in particular that, having regard to the seriousness of the misconduct, the seniorposition held by Mr (Michel) Platini in football’s governing bodies and the need to restore the reputation of the sport and of FIFA, the sanction did not appear excessive or arbitrary," judged the European Court ofHumans Rights (ECHR), "in its decision in the case of Platini v. Switzerland (application no. 526/18) the European Court of Human Rights has unanimously declared the application inadmissible. The decision is final," announced the European authority 05/03/2020.

Michel Platini, suspended from any function in football for four years (from 08/10/2015 to 07/10/2019) and also sanctioned with a fine of 60,000 Swiss francs (€54,000 as of 09/05/2016, date of the CAS decision), had filed an application with the European Court of Human Rights on 22/12/2017.
