Financial Fair Play/UEFA: Olympique de Marseille referred to the CFCB adjudicatory chamber

"The Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) chief investigator (Yves Leterme, BEL), after having consulted with the other members of the independent CFCB investigatory chamber, has decided to refer the two above-mentioned clubs to the CFCB adjudicatory chamber," announced UEFA on 05/03/2020.

As a consequence of the Marseille club's failure to comply with the financial stability requirements of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations (net deficits of €42.4m in 2016-17 and €78.6m in 2017-18), a settlement agreement, published on 19/06/2019 (see below), had been reached between the CFCB's investigatory chamber and Olympique de Marseille, who are now accused of failing to comply with the conditions set for the 2019-20 season.

"The club undertakes to have a maximum break-even deficit of €30m for the reporting period (financial year) ending in 2020 and of €0m for the reporting period ending in 2021 and to comply with the break-even requirement by no later than in the 2022-23 season (covering the fiscal years ending in 2020, 2021 and 2022)," indicated the settlement…
