United States: Seiko becomes the official timekeeper of the New York Cosmos for the 2014 season

Japanese watchmaker Seiko became the official timekeeper of the New York Cosmos (USA) franchise, which play in the minor-league NASL (National American Soccer League). The contract, signed on 11/04/2014, covers the 2014 season.

The brand logo will be visible on the clock of Shuart Stadium at Hofstra University (15,000 seats), and the countdown clock on the club's official website. Seiko will also use this partnership to promote the Seiko Astron, a solar GPS watch launched on 19/03/2014.

The 2014 NASL season began on 12/04/2014. The championship continues until spring 08/06/2014. The second part of the season (autumn championship) runs from 12/07 to 02/11/2014. The NASL has 13 teams (up from eight in 2013).
