Olympique Lyonnais: Reign FC (National Women's Soccer League, USA) renamed OL Reign

"Reign FC (NWSL) today revealed its new name and brand identity in advance of its eighth season in the National Women's Soccer League. Reign FC will now be known as OL Reign," announced Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama) on 06/03/2020 regarding the American women's football franchise that was acquired by OL Groupe in December 2019 (see below).

"The club's new name reflects the deep connection between one of the founding members of the NWSL, Reign FC, and one of Europe's most iconic football brands, Olympique Lyonnais. The new name fuses the essential elements of the two names - OL and Reign - combining them into a powerful new marque that celebrates the special relationship between the clubs," said the French club, which has been working on the new visual identity since the acquisition of the franchise.
