Covid-19: AS Roma donates masks and sanitising gel to a hospital and publishes an awareness video

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) is donating 1,500 FFP3 protective masks, 2,000 surgical masks and 60 bottles of hand sanitising gel to Rome's Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital (ITA) to support the facility - "the epicenter of the battle in Italy to save the lives of those infected by the disease all over the country" - in the face of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, announced the club on 06/03/2020.

"AS Roma and Roma Cares (the club's foundation) wish to express their closeness to all healthcare professionals tackling the Coronavirus and all infected patients," said the Roman club. The Coronavirus epidemic has already affected, in Italy, more than 9,000 people and caused 460 deaths (as of 09/03/2020).

AS Roma also decided to distribute 2,000 small bottles of sanitising gel to customers of the club's official store, located in Piazza Colonna, in the heart of the Italian capital. A video featuring Roma coach Paulo Fonseca and several of the club's players has also been posted on the club's platforms to raise awareness of good hygiene practices to limit the spread of the virus.
