Covid-19: professional football matches behind closed doors in Portugal from 10/03/2020

All professional football matches (Liga NOS and Ledman LigaPro) in Portugal will take place behind closed doors from 10/03/2020, "until further notice," announced the Portuguese Football Federation on 10/03/2020, in the face of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic which has already affected more than 40 people in Portugal (as of 10/03/2020).

"Matches in national senior non-professional football competitions cannot accommodate more than 5,000 people in the stands, in accordance with the recommendations of the Directorate-General of Health," said the Federaçao Portuguesa de Futebol.

"The emergency group (composed by Fernando Soares Gomes da Silva, president of the FPF) will continue to monitor the situation and will be able to review - by increasing or reducing - the measures currently being implemented," added the body.
