Ligue 1: 14% growth in turnover and 71% decrease in net loss for 2012-13

Ligue 1 clubs achieved a turnover excluding player transfers of €1.297mb in 2012-13, according to the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control) in its activity report for the season, published on 15/04/2014. This amount represents an increase of 14% (€161.5m) from the 2011-12 season (€1.135mb).

The growth in the overall turnover of Ligue 1 is strongly linked with the increase in revenues by Paris Saint-Germain, which grew €177m (+ 79.7%) from 2011-12 (€222.4m) to 2012-13 (€399.6m).

The source of Ligue 1's revenue growth is mainly an increase of €112.9m (+53%) in merchandising revenue and other income, rising from €251m in 2011-12 to €365.6m, a year later. Paris Saint-Germain are credited with nearly 96% of this increase: they had €108m in additional merchandising in 2012-13 compared to the previous season.

The share of TV rights as part of clubs' overall revenues fell by five percentage points, from 54% in 2011-12 to 49% in 2012-13.
