Covid-19: Major League Soccer suspended for 30 days from 12/03/2020

Major League Soccer (MLS) is suspended for 30 days, "effective immediately," announced the North American football league, on 12/03/2020, due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, which has infected more than 1,000 people in the United States as of the same date.

"At the appropriate time, the league and clubs will communicate plans for the continuation of the 2020 season and update the status of league events," said MLS.

"Our clubs were united today in the decision to temporarily suspend our season - based on the advice and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and other public health authorities, and in the best interest of our fans, players, officials and employees," said Don Garber, MLS commissioner.

• Flights from Europe to the United States have been canceled for 30 days, starting on Friday 13/03/2020, after an announcement by President Donald Trump on 11/03/2020.
