Euro 2020: Turkey is confident it will get the semi-finals and final

"We think we will be awarded the two semifinals and the final and we deserve it after bidding for the last three tournaments. It's high time we were successful and UEFA [Union of European Football Associations] president Michel Platini has given that hint to us," said Turkish Federation vice-president Servet Yardimci on 14/04/2014.

National associations have until 25/04/2014 at midnight to file their bids to host Euro 2020, to be held in 13 cities in 13 countries affiliated with UEFA. Thirty-two countries confirmed their interest in hosting matches in the competition on 11/09/2013.

The Istanbul bid is of great interest in Turkey, especially since the city failed in its bid to host the 2020 Olympic Summer Games; the IOC (International Olympic Committee) gave them to Tokyo (JAP) on 07/09/2013.
