Covid-19/France: Canal+ goes free-to-air on all boxes, offers subscribers access to all its channels

Canal+ is announcing the free-to-air broadcast of its premium channel on all boxes (SFR, Free, Orange, etc.) during the period of confinement due to the Coronavirus pandemic (until 15/04/2020), according to the free and pay-TV group on Twitter on 16/03/2020. "For its subscribers, the group is also providing access to all of its cinema, series, youth and documentary channels."

This announcement comes at a time when all sports competitions in Canal+'s rights portfolio have been suspended as of 17/03/2020 (see list below).

Canal+ has more than 20 million subscribers worldwide, including 8.4 million in mainland France as of 31/12/2019.
