"The main challenge for clubs currently is clearly the protection of players and staff. Business stabilisation measures such as cash-flow control, contract analysis as well as salary optimisation will be important in the short-term, together with support packages from government authorities. In the mid-to-long term, the industry will face a set of challenging circumstances as the economic environment, social practices and governmental limitations will dictate the new panorama for football. At the same time, there are some opportunities to take stock, evaluate optimal models for the future, and also engage in the development of some new business models based on areas such as eSports, virtual reality or social initiatives," stated Olivier Jarosz, managing partner at Club Affairs, to News Tank Football on 23/03/2020.
