The beginning of the 2020 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) regular season, originally scheduled to start on 18/04/2020, "will be delayed," announced the US Women's football league via Twitter, on 20/03/2020.

"As we continue to follow the guidelines released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the NWSL has extended its training moratorium through and including Sunday, 05/04/2020," said the body. The Coronavirus pandemic has reached more than 55,000 people and killed 785 in the United States as of 25/03/2020.

"We are considering all possible implications for the preseason and regular season schedules while prioritizing the health and safety of our players, staff and fans," added the NWSL.

Reign FC, renamed OL Reign on 06/03/2020 following its acquisition by Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama) on 19/12/2019, is one of the nine franchises competing in the 2020 season of the North American women's football championship.
