Covid-19: Royal Spanish Football Federation opens a €500m line of credit for professional clubs

A €500m line of credit (repayable over four or five years) for clubs in the first two divisions (LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank) with an invitation to LaLiga and the clubs to participate in the effort, a €4m advance (repayable over two years without interest) to enable semi-professional Spanish clubs to pay players and coaches, the providing of the RFEF's physiotherapists and health psychologists to the Spanish authorities and the national team hotel, were the main announcements made by Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, on 25/03/2020.

Luis Rubiales presented this social and economic action plan during a videoconference with the regional leaders of Spanish football at a time when the country is being hit very hard by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which has already officially affected more than 49,500 people in Spain and claimed more than 3,600 lives as of 26/03/2020.
