According to the Mayor of Bergamo (ITA) Giorgio Gori, the Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio (Serie A TIM) - Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) 2019-20 Champions League Round of 16 first-leg (4-1) at the Stadio Guiseppe Meazza (78,328 capacity) in Milan (ITA) on 19/02/2020, "was a biological bomb" which contributed to the spread of Coronavirus in Italy and Spain, according to Spanish media on 25/03/2020.

"At that time we did not know what was happening. The first patient in Italy was on 23/02/2020. If the virus was already circulating, the 40,000 fans who went to San Siro were infected. No one knew that the virus was already circulating among us. Many watched the game in groups and there were lots of contact (between fans) that night. The virus passed from one person to another," said the Mayor of Bergamo.
