Covid-19: FC Internazionale Milano (Serie A TIM) raises €658,000 to finance the search for a vaccine

FC Internazionale Milano (Serie A TIM) has raised €658,000 through its global fundraising campaign #TogetherAsATeam which ended on Tuesday 24/03/2020, according to the club on 25/03/2020. The amount raised aims to help the department of biomedical and clinical sciences at the Luigi Sacco hospital in Milan (Lombardy, Italy) by funding its research for a vaccine for Covid-19. The Coronavirus pandemic has already killed more than 8,200 people in Italy as of 27/03/2020.

"The fans made a big contribution with around 3,500 donations raising a total of €108,000 via the Facebook fundraiser launched on Saturday 14/03/2020. That figure supplemented the €500,000 donated by everyone at the club - first-team players, coaching staff and employees - and a €50,000 donation by the PUPI Foundation (which helps disadvantaged children), making a grand total of €658,000," said Inter Milan.
