eSports: Lega Serie A and Infront Italy launch a pre-season tournament for eSerie A TIM clubs

"Infront, a Wanda Sports Group company and the eSerie A TIM's exclusive media, marketing and digital partner, will deliver the first pre-season eSports tournament for the Italian football league's top clubs on 01/04/2020," announced the Italian branch of the Swiss sports marketing company the same day.

With the eSerie A TIM suspended due to the Covid-19 crisis (see below), which has already affected 105,792 people and claimed 12,428 lives in Italy as of 01/04/2020, the Lega Serie A and Infront have decided to launch a new alternative tournament "for fans and players alike" with the help of the Italian eSports event organiser PG Esports.

"The tournaments consist of four teams facing each other prior to the start of the eSerie A TIM. After competing in a group stage, the teams will face each other in the semi-finals and final. The first tournament will feature the four FIFA 20 (EA Sports) teams from eSerie A TIM's Inter | Qlash, A.S. Roma, Genoa Esports and Fiorentina Esports," explained Infront.
