Manchester United: David Moyes fired as manager, Ryan Giggs to replace him

Scottish man, David Moyes was dismissed as manager of Manchester United (Premier League), announced the club on 22/04/2014. David Moyes is under contract with the club until the end of the 2018-19 season.

The decision comes two days after the club's defeat to Everton FC in the English league (2-0, 35th matchday, on 20/04/2013), sending them to seventh place in the standings with 57 points. "The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role," said Manchester United on 22/04/2014.

David Moyes, in office since 01/07/2013, held the position at Manchester United for ten months after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of the club from 1986 to 2013. The club named Ryan Giggs (aged 41, Manchester United player since 1991) as interim manager for the last four matchdays of the season.
