France Télévisions: a turnover of €3.022bn (-2.1%) and net profit of €26.4m in 2019

France Télévisions posted a turnover of €3.022bn in 2019, down 2.1% compared with 2018 (€3.087bn) according to the financial results approved by the board of directors of the French public broadcasting group on 02/04/2020.

The broadcaster posted an operating profit (€0.1m in 2019 versus €0.4m in 2018) for the fourth consecutive year "in a context of a €26m reduction in public funding compared to 2018; total advertising revenues (€392.5m) are up slightly," said France Télévisions.

The French group's net profit in 2019 was €26.4m (-€89.3m in 2018), "including an exceptional result of €19m, mainly corresponding to capital gains on the sale of certain real estate assets," explained the group.

The television group's workforce was composed of 9,456 people (full time employees) as of 31/12/2019 compared to 9,618 the previous year (9,456). While, programming costs amounted to €2.103bn in 2019 (€2.109bn in 2018) including €193.6m for sports (€199.6m in 2018, the year of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games in China).
