Covid-19/Belarus: the only ongoing European championship sells its TV rights to 10 countries

The Football Federation of Belarus is selling the broadcasting rights of its first division championship (the Belarusian Premier League or Vysheyshaya Liga), the only league currently in progress in Europe, to 10 countries including Russia, Ukraine, Israel and India, according to the news agency Reuters on 31/03/2020. "This is an unprecedented situation," said Alexander Aleinik, a spokesman for the Federation, to the news agency.

Fans are still allowed to go to football stadiums in Belarus while the basketball championship has been stopped due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, which has killed more than 55,000 people and forced the confinement of around 3 billion people worldwide, as of 03/04/2020. In Belarus (population 9.5 million), 351 cases have been recorded and 4 people died as of 03/04/2020.
