Covid-19: "Abandoning domestic competitions is premature" (UEFA-ECA-European Leagues)

"We are confident that football can restart in the months to come - with conditions that will be dictated by public authorities - and believe that any decision of abandoning domestic competitions is, at this stage, premature and not justified," stated Aleksander Ceferin, president of UEFA, Andrea Agnelli, president of the European Club Association, and Lars-Christer Olsson, president of European Leagues, in a letter to the 55 affiliated national member associations published by the British media on 02/04/2020.

This letter follows the video conference organised by UEFA with the general secretaries of its 55 member associations on Wednesday 01/04/2020, while the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has claimed the lives of over 69,500 people worldwide as of 06/04/2020.
