Premier League: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 20 clubs (April 2020)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2019-20 Premier League season have nearly 507 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/04/2019. This total has enabled the Premier League to become the most popular Top 5 European league all the three social networks combined, ahead of LaLiga Santander, with an average of 25.3 million fans per club.

Manchester United FC are the most popular English club with nearly 130 million fans, followed by Chelsea FC, with nearly 84 million and Liverpool FC, with 76 million.

Liverpool FC was the Premier League club that experienced the best growth in absolute value in March 2020 with nearly 1.2 million additional fans, including 716,840 on Instagram alone. Manchester United FC, posted the second best growth in absolute value, with an increase of more than 1 million followers, also mainly via Instagram (+632,482 followers).

In terms of percentage growth, Sheffield United FC was the club that experienced the best growth on Instagram (+9.6%), while Wolverhampton Wanderers FC posted the best growth on…
