CONMEBOL: a turnover of $509m (€454m) and net profit of $28.1m (€25m) in 2019

CONMEBOL posted a total turnover of $509m (€454m) for the financial year 2019 (ending 31/12/2019), of which $487.2m (95%) came from competition revenues (Copa América, Copa Libertadores, etc.), according to the South American Confederation at the end of its 72nd ordinary congress, held via video conference due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on 02/04/2020.

"93% of these total revenues (more than double the $227m generated in 2018), i.e. $451m, is reinvested into the development of football," explained the body, which posted a net profit of $28.1m (€25m) for the financial year 2019.

"With solid finances, we will be able to face these exceptional circumstances (the Covid-19 crisis) with confidence and with the necessary responsiveness, both financially and institutionally," said Alejandro Domínguez, president of CONMEBOL, which has made available "up to $65m, so that the clubs participating in its tournaments can count on an advance of up to 60% of their participation fees."
