Spain: "LaLigaSantander Fest" raises over €1m to help fight Covid-19

The "LaLigaSantander Fest", a charity concert organised by LaLiga, Banco Santander (bank), Universal Music (music label) and GTS (subsidiary of Universal Music) on 28/03/2020, raised a total of €1,003,532, according to the Spanish League on 01/04/2020. The funds raised will be used by the Banco Santander Foundation to purchase equipment to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, which has already claimed the lives of 14,555 people in Spain (as of 08/04/2020).

"Thanks to donations made from all over the world, the money of this charity festival will go to the purchase of non-invasive respirators, disposable sterile protective suits, vinyl protective gloves and masks, including the million donated by Banco Santander. All of these supplies will be put to use in line with the government's medical priorities in a coordinated effort with the High Council for Sport (CSD)," said LaLiga.

"LaLigaSantander Fest was broadcast live in 182 countries and registered a potential audience of more than 50 million viewers," added the Spanish League.
