Covid-19: Manchester United FC delivers food supplies to local charities within the community

Employees from Manchester United FC (Premier League) and the club's Foundation have delivered "food and drink to local groups and charities (in Manchester, ENG) dealing with the impacts of the (Covid-19) pandemic," announced the club on 07/04/2020. The Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has affected over 60,700 people in the UK and claimed nearly 7,100 lives as of 09/04/2020

"The workforce packaged up 30,000 items and took them to a number of places in Greater Manchester including Stretford Food Bank and Salford Royal Hospital. Staff cleared the stadium's (Old Trafford,74,879 capacity) bars, kiosks and kitchens of all perishable goods stocked for use up until the summer and loaded them into a fleet of Foundation vehicles with volunteer drivers on hand to make the deliveries," said the club, which usually donates left over food supplies to food banks and charities after each home game.
