Laws of the game 2020-21: suspended competitions can continue to use 2019-20 laws after 01/06/2020

"The Laws of the Game 2020-21 come into force on 01/06/2020 but, mindful of the current suspension of football throughout the world, if a suspended competition restarts it has the option to continue using the 2019-20 Laws of the Game, even if the restart is after 01/06/2020," announced The International Football Association Board (IFAB) on 09/04/2020, following the terms of its circular n°18 on 07/04/2020 addressed to all national federations and confederations (document available to download).

"The 134^th annual general meeting (AGM) approved clarifications to several existing Laws to the 2020-21 Laws of the Game. These changes relate to Law 10 (yellow cards are not carried forward into kicks from the penalty mark), Law 12 (handball, to differentiate more clearly between the arm and shoulder) and other clarifications," previously announced IFAB, at the end of its meeting in Belfast (Northern Ireland) on Saturday 29/02/2020.
