Europa League 2015-2018: W9 retains one game a week while beIN sports claims entire tournament

The free-TV group, M6 (owned by W9), and pay-TV company, beIN Sports, have won the tender for broadcasting rights in France for the Europa League 2015-2018, UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) announced on 22/04/2014.

M6 acquired the broadcasting rights for the best match of each week of competition. In total, the company, via W9, will broadcast live and unscrambled 15 matches of the Europa League each season, as well as summaries of all matches of the competition.

The Qatari pay-TV company beIN Sports acquired the rights to broadcast the entire tournament, meaning 205 matches per season, as well as summaries of matches.

This division of rights is identical to that of the 2012-2015 cycle. beIN Sports and M6 pay UEFA an estimated €16m in total per season. The value of the 2015-2018 rights has not been disclosed.
