"We (sport) are a disaster sector (in the COvid-19 crisis), much like transport, catering, hotels, events, culture, etc. We do not receive revenue, yet we have to pay fixed charges every month. And we are in front of broadcasters (Canal+ and beIN Sports, who refused to pay on the contractual deadline of 04/04/2020 to the LFP, respectively €110m and €42m, due to the suspension of the Championship), which penalizes us particularly harshly since a club like OM has only received today 41% of our TV rights, when we have played 73% of our matches," stated Jacques-Henri Eyraud, president of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 Conforama), in the French sports daily L'Équipe on 15/04/2020.

"We cannot dismiss the economic impact. The clubs are in very difficult situations today and stopping the Championship definitively would mean an even more serious economic situation for them.
