Covid-19/France: a ban on "events with large audiences until mid-July 2020" (E. Macron)

"The strictest lockdown must continue until Monday 11/05/2020," announced Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic on 13/04/2020 in a speech concerning the measures taken to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in France (text available in French, see Twitter below).

"However, public places such as restaurants, cafés and hotels, cinemas, theatres, concert halls and museums will remain closed at this stage. Major festivals and events with large audiences will not be able to take place until at least mid-July 2020. The situation will be collectively evaluated as of mid-May, weekly, to adapt things and give you visibility," said Macron.

This announcement precipitates the postponement or cancellation of the Tour de France, which was due to start on 27/06/2020 in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) and finish in Paris on 19/07/2020, as well as the French Formula 1 Grand Prix, scheduled on the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet (Var) from 26 to 28/06/2020.
