Covid-19: Formula E launches an eSports tournament in partnership with UNICEF to generate funds

Formula E has launched the "ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge", an eSports tournament using rFactor 2 simulation software, which will take place every Saturday for nine consecutive weekends from 18/04 to 13/06/2020, according to the electric single-seater racing competition on 15/04/2020. This is the first major fundraising initiative linked to its partnership with UNICEF, signed the day before (see below).

"The ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge will feature two separate grids running in parallel, one comprised of drivers from the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and the other one filled by some of the fastest gamers and influencers. The winning gamer will make the transition from the gaming world to secure real-life track time on a Formula E circuit during a race weekend," said the organisers of the electric car championship.
