"Since the beginning of this crisis, the LFP and all football stakeholders have made health their top priority," said the French Professional Football League on 20/04/2020.

"Economic urgency must not take precedence over the public health imperative. Let us renounce a hasty and dangerous resumption of the championship. Let's put together today the conditions for a successful and exemplary recovery of the football that we love so much," said Sylvain Kastendeuch, co-president of UNFP, in an article published by the French daily Le Monde on 21/04/2020.

"Perhaps we need to look at another scenario, which has been discussed by Jean-Pierre Rivère (president of OGC Nice) and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (president of Paris Saint-Germain), where we would postpone all this to end the 2019-20 season at the end of the calendar year and start the new season at the beginning of 2021. This is one of the scenarios that FIFA is interested in with the World Cup in Qatar (from 21/11 to 18/12/2022).
