Liga BBVA: FIFA suspends recruitment ban imposed on FC Barcelona for 2014-15

FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) suspended the recruitment ban for 2014-15 placed on FC Barcelona for offenses relating to the transfer and registration of ten players under the age of 18, on 23/04/2014. The FIFA appeal committee granted an immediate suspension of the verdict at the request of the club on 02/04/2014. FC Barcelona will therefore be able to participate in the 2014 summer transfer market.

Suspensive effect was implemented due to the "complexity of the case," said FIFA, as well as citing the fact that any legal proceedings will not make a judgment before the opening of the transfer market.

The call of FC Barcelona will be considered by the FIFA appeal committee before the end of the Catalan club's season (18/05/2014), said El Mundo Deportivo. FC Barcelona will then have the possibility, depending on the decision of the commission, to take the case before the court of arbitration for sport.
