Women's Euro: UEFA postpones 2021 tournament to be held in England by 1 year (from 06 to 31/07/2022)

"The UEFA executive committee today confirmed that the postponed UEFA Women's Euro 2021 will be played in England from 06/07 to 31/07/2022. It is planned to use the same venues (see list below) that were originally proposed to host the event," announced the European body following a videoconference on 23/04/2020.

"We firmly believe that moving to 2022 is in the best interests of the tournament, the players, the fans, women's football partners and everybody involved in all areas and at all levels of the game," said Nadine Kessler, chief of women's football at UEFA.

"By moving UEFA Women's Euro to the following year, we are ensuring that our flagship women's competition will be the only major football tournament of the summer, providing it with the spotlight it deserves," said Aleksander Ceferin (SVN), president of UEFA.

The decision to reschedule the women's Euro comes after UEFA announced on 17/03/2020 that the men's Euro 2020 would be postponed until 2021 due to the global Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and UEFA's duty "to protect the health of all those involved in the game…
