Covid-19: FC Girondins de Bordeaux raises more than €26,000 for the city's University Hospital

FC Girondins de Bordeaux (Ligue 1 Conforama) has raised more than €26,000 (€26,636.73) for the University Hospital of Bordeaux via its "Pièces Blanches" ("white coins") fundraiser launched on the crowdfunding platform Leetchi on 30/03/2020, announced the French club on 23/04/2020.

"The sums collected will be used to help purchase ventilators and essential equipment to support hospital staff, who have been involved for many weeks in the fight against Covid-19," explained Girondins of Bordeaux upon the launch of the fundraiser which ended on 19/04/2020.

"Faced with the health crisis and the needs mentioned by Yann Bubien, director of the Bordeaux University Hospital, the club wanted to support its longstanding partner. An artificial ventilator will therefore be purchased with this money to care for people suffering from Covid-19," said FC Girondins, while the club has already set up several initiatives in support of healthcare personnel and the most vulnerable (see below).
