LFP TV rights: agreements with Canal+ and beIN Sports for payment of matches already broadcast

"The Professional Football League and the Canal+ group are delighted to have reached an agreement on the amount of the rules relating to matches in the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 championships already broadcast this season, in accordance with the call for tenders for the acquisition of the 2016-20 broadcasting rights," announced the LFP on 24/04/2020, a few moments before indicating that it had also reached an agreement with beIN Sports France, the other domestic broadcaster of the Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2.

Canal+ and beIN Sports had informed the French League, on 29/03 and 01/04/2020 respectively, of their decision not to pay the scheduled amounts on 05/04/2020 (€110m for Canal+, including approximately €43m for matched already played and broadcast according to L'Equipe; €42m for beIN Sports, with €15m corresponding to matches already played and broadcast), while Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 are suspended "until further notice", since 13/03/2020. There are 101 Ligue 1 matches left to play: the last 10 matchdays, plus the previously postponed RC Strasbourg - PSG…
